The delegation from the eAtlantic Fundazioa Foundation, led by its president, Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, together with the director general, Marian Elorza, and the principal investigator, Juanjo Alvarez, took part in the gala dinner held on the occasion of the State of Europe Forum, the Festival of Ideas, which began today in Brussels.
More than 200 attendees took part in the dinner, which served as a starting point for the extensive working day planned for Thursday, 16 October. The event brought together leading figures from the political, economic and cultural spheres of the European Union at the tables of the central Palais des Beaux-Arts in the Belgian capital.
In the run-up to the meeting, several of the guests highlighted the timeliness of this forum, which coincides with one of the most momentous political, economic and strategic security moments in the EU.
The president of the eAtlantic Foundation shared the evening with figures of recognised prestige for their institutional careers, such as Enrico Letta, president of the Jacques Delors Institute and author of the report on the Future of the European Market, among others. Various members of the College of EU Commissioners were also invited to the event, as well as other representatives from various EU institutions.
As planned, this dinner served as the official announcement of the merger that took place on 20 July between two prestigious think tanks, the Jacques Delors-Notre Europe Institute and Friends of Europe, which has given rise to the Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation.
Specifically, as part of the agenda of the eAtlantic Fundazioa Foundation delegation, a double meeting will take place on Thursday between its members and the main representatives of this newly formed European foundation.
Round tables
This Festival of Politics and Ideas, held under the slogan Europe matters: now or never, has also attracted the interest of numerous media outlets from different countries, accredited by the organisation, which will follow the debates and proposals at a particularly critical moment for the present and future of the European project.
In this context, the round tables that will take place throughout Thursday are of great interest.
