The eAtlantic Foundation is among the 200 guests from over 40 countries who have begun this Thursday the debates on the present and future of Europe within the framework of the Friends of Europe forum. A series of round tables have been organised to address a wide range of geopolitical and strategic issues throughout the day, attended by the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, in his capacity as President of eAtlantic, together with the Foundation’s Director General, Marian Elorza, and its Principal Researcher, Juanjo Álvarez.
The wide-ranging list of debates proposed by the organisers, held at the centrally located The Merode Club in the Belgian capital, includes highly relevant topics such as security, the EU’s stance towards major global players such as China and India, its connection with Latin American countries, and transatlantic relations.
On behalf of the eAtlantic Foundation, its President highlighted the “valuable opportunity” that “being present” at this internationally renowned forum represents, while also expanding relations with other institutions equally committed to the development of the European sphere. Within the framework of Thursday’s opening sessions, the eAtlantic delegation is scheduled to meet with the Jacques Delors–Friends of Europe Foundation with the aim of reaching an understanding on a memorandum of cooperation.
